The high Formazza is a dramatic valley where you can find plenty of blooms. In this stunning place the lovely grazing cows make a special milk for a special cheese: the Bettelmat. We will go to this alpine pasture which lyies on a spectacular plain where since ancient times traders passed over it. We will walk over a meadow ridge at the foot of the "Punta dei Camosci" reaching the Rifugio Città di Busto in a panoramic position. Here we can admire the peaks of Val Formazza like Punta d'Arbola with its glacier. Then we will descent from another path that leads us in the small valley of Rio Sabbione, a small stream that descends directly from the Sabbione glacier. The path will be a little rocky but not very difficult and we will go back to Riale with its nice church. Very pleasant hike! This excursion requires a medium effort, the paths are medium-easy to walk, only a few steep trails.
