In spring nature in the mountains takes new life!
While the peaks of mountains are still covered with snow, in the middle of valleys the warm air coming from south melts the snow and the first flowers bloom and meadows shine in light green.
Spring is also the season where rainfall can happen more frequently, but luckily thanks to the Alps acting as a barrier to the Atlantic air masses, this does not happen continuously and persistently.
The moment of nature awakening is probably the best period of the year: spring in our mountains marks the arrival of the good season and then the return to life. In spring it is the ideal time to discover pre-alps of Piedmont and Lombardy along the wonderful and panoramic paths over the great lakes such as Lake Maggiore and Lake Como. In these areas there are countless trails that you can walk. On weekends many alpine huts are open to offer the typical food of these lands between lake and mountain. From the simplest walks to challenging treks, here you will find your ideal play ground.
Spring is the best season to walk in Liguria, where the blue of the sea and the beautiful Mediterranean blooms give us unique landscapes.
In Northern Italy the climate is unique! in spring in a radius of about 150 km you can still live the snow at high altitude with winter visions on the Alps and at the same time in Liguria you can reach the Mediterranean where the climate is warm with temperatures of about 20 degrees. In only one weekend this is possible because Milan and the Po Valley are exactly halfway!
